Dr. Giuseppe Intini Awarded Grant from Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma
Giuseppe Intini, DDS, MS, PhD, associate professor in the Pitt Dental Medicine Department of Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry, has been awarded a grant from Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma to support his project “Generation and maintenance of novel transgenic immunocompetent osteosarcoma mouse lines".
New Orthodontics Digital Lab Made Possible Through Generous Alumnus
The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is proud to announce the establishment of a new Orthodontics Digital Dentistry Lab. The development of this modern, educational and patient care resource is made possible through the generosity of Pitt Dental Medicine Alumnus, Dr. Timothy Tremont (DMD 1978) in honor of his father, Dr. Charles F. Tremont, Sr. (DDS 1947), also a Pitt Dental Medicine Alumnus.
A Breakthrough in Nerve Regeneration
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, led by Associate Professor Dr. Fatima N. Syed, have developed a stem cell-based solution to repair facial nerve injuries. By harnessing dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs), the team created self-assembling biological conduits that guide nerve regrowth across large gaps—showing results comparable to traditional autografts.
