Debora Dias, DDS, MSc, Pitt Dental Medicine Assistant Professor and PhD candidate in the Department of Periodontics, has been awarded a grant from the Osteology Foundation.
Her supported project, entitled “PDGF–BB incorporated in DBBM for ridge preservation: a randomized clinical trial,” will look at a novel method for helping the healing process for patients who have had a tooth removed.
“As an early-career researcher and faculty member at Pitt Dental Medicine, this grant is a significant milestone in advancing my work in alveolar ridge preservation. I am excited to explore how the combination of a growth factor and bone grafting materials can optimize healing and improve clinical outcomes for patients undergoing tooth extractions. This funding supports my commitment to clinical research and innovation in periodontics.”
