Dr. Richard A. Dukovich is a part-time Clinical Instructor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, bringing nearly forty years of experience in general dentistry to his role. He is dedicated to providing students with a strong foundation in clinical practice and a deep understanding of patient-centered care.
Dr. Dukovich has a long and distinguished history in private practice. He previously owned and operated two successful dental practices, serving the communities of Glassport (until 2012) and Bethel Park (until 2018). He currently practices dentistry at Ferguson Family Dentistry in Bethel Park, continuing his commitment to providing high-quality dental care. His practice continues to focus on comprehensive, patient-centered care utilizing the latest dental technologies creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients of all ages.
At the School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Dukovich serves as a part-time Clinical Instructor, providing hands-on guidance and mentorship to pre-doctoral students in the Restorative clinic. He focuses on mastering restorative techniques, and building strong patient communication skills. He has a long history of supporting aspiring dental professionals, having hosted many aspiring assistants, hygienists, and dentists in his former practices, providing valuable training and career guidance.
Dr. Dukovich received his BS (1983) and DMD (1987) from the University of Pittsburgh. His dental school education was highlighted by an extended externship at Montefiore Hospital and departmental honors at graduation.
