Dr. Pamela Tisot graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in biology. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and served as a Lieutenant in the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service Indian Health Service Branch prior to entering private practice.
She began working part-time at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine as a clinical instructor in 2017 in the Restorative and Comprehensive Care Department and working in private practice. In 2019, Dr. Tisot joined the department as a full-time assistant professor and now serves as vice-chair of the Restorative Department and the Director of Predoctoral Clinical Operations.
She currently is the co-course director for pre-doctoral courses Diagnosis and Treatment Planning 1 & 2; Cariology and Caries Management 1 & 2 Lecture; Cariology and Caries Management 1 & 2 Lab; and ADEX review courses. She is a participating faculty in the Oral Diagnosis and Treatment Planning 1 & 2 and Restorative 1 & 2 clinical courses. Dr. Tisot also serves as the Pitt Dental Medicine liaison for CDCA/WREB/CITA licensure exam and is an examiner and member of that organization.
Dr. Tisot is a member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine pre-doctoral admissions committee, Pitt Dental Alumni Association Board, Dean’s Council, Planning and Budget Committee, several CODA accreditation subcommittees, and chair of the Instrument and Materials Selections Committee. She also serves as the ASDA and Women Dentistry Clubs faculty advisor.
