Born and raised in Muncy, PA, Dr. Bennardi graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1991. After graduation, Dr. Bennardi and husband, Thomas Barberio, DMD took over her father’s dental practice in Muncy where they practiced together for over 30 years. During that time,
Dr. Bennardi volunteered her services for her local school district as the school dentist for over 10 years. She also volunteered to perform dental exams at her local nursing home and the Susquehanna Community Health Clinic from 2005-2007. She and her husband started a non-profit dental clinic in Laporte, Pennsylvania in 2011 where Dr. Bennardi was the supervising dentist for over 8 years. Both she and her husband volunteered their dental and administrative services to the Sullivan County Dental Clinic for over 30 hours/month. Dr. Bennardi was also the leader of a Spear Study group from 2018-2024, a Spear member and a participant in many Spear workshops, lectures, and continuing education events. Over many years, Dr. Bennardi has been a member of the ADA, PDA, AAID, AGD, and ICD. She was the president of the Lycoming County Dental Society from 2023-2024.
As a mother of 3 boys, much of her free time during their school years was spent contributing to her local school and community by being a school board member for over 10 years and room mom, just to name a few.
After her children graduated from high school and college, Dr. Bennardi moved to Pittsburgh in August of 2024 and has been working at Pitt Dental School and at Allegheny County Jail. Dr. Bennardi has been volunteering with pre-dental students as a mentor and various other volunteer opportunities within Pitt Dental School.
