For six years she was a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation for General Practice Dental Residency Programs. Dr. Adams had the opportunity to participate in two research projects involving Herpes Simples Virus Sensitivity to Acyclovir and the Effects of FK506 (Tacrolimus) on gingival tissues. She conducted oral cancer screenings at numerous Veteran Health Care Outreach programs in western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. In 1981 she began teaching at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine as a clinical instructor in Restorative.
