Dr. Christina R. Heavner earned her bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University before pursuing her DMD at the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She enhanced her skills through a General Practice Residency Program at New York Medical College/Westchester County Medical Center , where she gained advanced training in restorative and surgical dentistry.
After working as an associate for several years, Dr. Heavner established a successful private practice , offering high-quality dental care to patients of all ages. Dedicated to staying at the forefront of dentistry, she continuously expanded her expertise and became certified with The Zimmer Institute, Hiossen Implants and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. She is an active member of several professional organizations .
Currently, Dr. Heavner is an assistant professor in the Restorative and Comprehensive Care Department at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where she serves as the co-course director in the pre-doctoral courses Principles of Professional Practice Management and Applications of Practice Management.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Heavner is a clinical instructor in all the restorative clinics as well as the Advanced General Dental Clinic.
Dr. Heavner enjoys her responsibilities as a team leader, mentoring and helping students navigate curriculum requirements and serving on the Pre-doctoral Admissions Committee.
Outside her professional commitments, Dr. Heavner enjoys an active lifestyle, often spending time on the golf course or traveling to see her children.
