Trainees enrolled in this novel program complete their educational courses with Pitt Dental Medicine faculty for a three-month period. Following the online coursework, the trainees will complete a three-week clinical internship in dental offices such as yours in the tri-state region and beyond. Upon completion of the clinical training period, trainees in this program will have the skills and knowledge to become successful dental assistants who you can hire for full-time work in your office.
Dental Assisting Training Program Highlights
- Three weeks (112.5 hours) of clinical training will begin once the trainee successfully completes required job shadowing (22.5 hours) and their online educational coursework led by Pitt Dental Medicine.
- Online educational training begins in January and August each year—sign up now to be a clinical site and make a difference in dental education with options to:
- 1. Remove financial barriers by sponsoring a trainee in your office in exchange for a 1-year work commitment.
- Work commitments between the trainee and the clinical site can be made by sponsoring program fees.
- The $5,500 program fee includes all online lectures, instructional materials, simulation software, and the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) exam fee.
- 2. Bring more dental assistants to rural and underserved areas by hosting a trainee in your office for job shadowing and internship hours.
