The 3D Facial Norms Study was a collaborative initiative led by Drs. Weinberg and Marazita, involving investigators at Seattle Children’s Research Institute, the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and the University of Iowa.
The study aims included:
- To construct a web-based normative craniofacial repository comprised of 3D facial images, anthropometric measurements, and genome-wide SNPs
- To utilize this data repository to identify the genetic determinants of normal human facial variation.
2500 healthy Caucasian individuals (age 3-40) from the general population participated in the study.
The high-quality craniofacial anthropometric norms collected are available to the research and clinical community through The 3D Facial Norms Database.
