3. Laptops
3.1 Any laptop that needs to be connected to SDM network must be registered with SDM IT in order to have a static IP address. It is not allowed to use any other computer’s IP address or connect to unauthorized wireless device, hub, switch or router.
3.2 Any laptop that contains EPHI data must have not only password protection but also encryption for EPHI data files. It is the user’s responsibility to protect EPHI data on the laptop when he or she uses it. If a laptop that contains EPHI data was stolen, the user must report to the School Security Officer or University Police.
