The Dentist provides hands-on dental care to a variety of patients while achieving the highest levels of appropriateness, quality, efficiency, accessibility and responsiveness under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.

Responsibilities:
Ability to maintain quality, safety and/or infection control standards
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of modern dentistry and oral surgery including: current principles, methods and procedures; dental terminology and dental science; relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aides; ethical and legal standards of care; related accreditation/certification requirements
Thorough understanding of the theories, methods and procedures for the prevention of dental diseases and the required corrective treatment
Knowledge of community-based dental environment
Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions and progress, and develop and implement individualized dental care plans for patients
Ability to prescribe dosage and instruct patients in correct usage.
Prepares and signs all forms and charts, including all charting in electronic health record, needed for patient care and billing within one working day.
Abides by the policies and procedures of the Squirrel Hill Health Center and acts as a positive representative of the center in the community, whether real or virtual.

Qualifications:
COVID-19 vaccine + Bivalent Booster, Hep B, MMR and Flu vaccines required.
DDS or DMD degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in general dentistry
Current licensure in the state of Pennsylvania
Valid DEA license to prescribe narcotics
Computer skills.
BLS certified.
Knowledge of a second language preferred.
