It's a new year and might be the perfect time to learn a new skill.
Learn how to make a short film by participating in the Film Boot Camp: An Introduction to Audio Visual Practice in Research
Pitt’s Center for Creativity, the Film and Media Studies program in DSAS, and Pitt Geo/UCIS, are offering Pitt faculty, staff, and graduate students the opportunity to participate—at no cost—in a film "bootcamp" in May 2025. This exciting opportunity will be led by instructors from the Derek Jarman Lab (Birkbeck College, University of London) and equipped from Hillman Library's media production collection.
No prior filmmaking experience is needed.
By the end of the four-day bootcamp, each participant will have completed a short film. Projects may be artistic (documentary, arthouse, etc.), scholarly, or practical (for community engagement, recruiting, skill acquisition, etc.).
This is a great opportunity to explore ways to share your research or passion in a visual media form.
Applications are due February 21, 2025
