Course Description
Overview
Concepts of peri-implant health and disease will be discussed along with best practices for prevention and management. We will present the role of biofilms in peri-implantitis and how surface characteristics and modulation of materials translate to real-world applications to support implant health and prevent disease. The speakers will present evidence-based treatment options for treating peri-implantitis and present detailed clinical cases.
Objectives
- Discuss evidence-based strategies for management of implant-related biological complications
- Discuss the concept of titanium surface engineering and surface decontamination as strategies to control biofilm-related disease on titanium dental implants
